Facilitating foreigner in terms of residency, employment, and integration

At around 9a.m. on July 3, Granier Pierre Maria, a 78-year-old French citizen, arrived at the Immigration Management Division of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, located at No.47 Ly Tu Trong Street, Nha Trang City, to complete the required procedures for obtaining a Level 2 e-ID account.

Under the instruction of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Deputy Head of the Section for Foreigners’ Entry, Exit, and Residence, the French man filled in his personal details, had his fingerprints scanned, and underwent facial image verification.

According to Granier Pierre Maria, he has been living in Vietnam since 2014. He is married and resides on Me Linh Road, Nha Trang. From his friends and media, he knew about the benefits of obtaining a Level 2 e-ID account for foreigners.

Evaluating the police officers’ work attitude, Granier said, “The police officers were efficient and very helpful. I was really pleased with the whole process.”

According to Colonel Huynh Duc Trung, Deputy Head of the Immigration Management Division, the Level-2 e-ID account allows for faster and more convenient completion of online public services, reducing paperwork and saving time. It also ensures safety, transparency, and protection of legal rights. The account can be used for a range of digital services, including storing residence permits, conducting banking transactions, registering rental housing, and accessing public services.

Swift procedures and thoughtful assistance

Takahashi Hiroyuki (born 1967, Japanese citizen), is a business executive who has been living in Khanh Hoa since 2016. He currently holds a valid two-year work permit and temporary residence card.

“I’ve just completed the registration process for a Level 2 e-ID account. It was fast, clear, and effective. The police officers were very thorough and supportive, making it easy for me to complete the paperwork,” he noted.

According to Head of the Immigration Management Department of Colonel To Bich Ngoc, Khanh Hoa currently has 1,089 foreigners with valid temporary or permanent residence cards, all eligible to apply for a Level 2 e-ID account. Of these, more than 70% are working in enterprises or industrial parks, while the remaining 30% are individuals with family ties to Vietnamese citizens, such as spouses or children of Vietnamese origin. Since July 1, the division has been processing applications for an average of 30 foreigners per day.

To register for a Level 2 e-ID account, foreigners should provide a valid passport, valid temporary residence card, a mobile phone number registered in their name, and an email address. The processing time is no more than three working days for applicants whose information already exists in the national immigration database, and no more than seven working days for new cases. Results will be sent via the VNeID app., phone number, or email.
