Hung Yen’s Armed Forces presented with Fatherland Protection Order
PANO – The Hung Yen provincial Military Command held a ceremony on April 1 to celebrate the 70th foundation day of the province’s armed forces (April 1, 1947), in presence of Major General Vu Hai San, Commander of Military Zone 3; Hung Yen provincial Party Committee Secretary Do Tien Sy; General Nguyen Quyet and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan, former Directors of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.

General Ngo Xuan Lich, Member of the Politburo, Defense Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics; and Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Defense Minister, sent greeting flowers to the event.
At the ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Chi Cong, Commander of the provincial Military Command, briefed the participants on the history of building, fighting, and development of the province’s armed forces.
In the two national resistance wars against the French colonialists and American imperialists, Hung Yen province’s troops and people participated in thousands of battles, killing and capturing tens of thousands of enemy troops, and receiving many noble awards.
In the cause of national construction and development, especially since the re-establishment of the province (January 1997), Hung Yen province’s armed forces have continued making large contributions to the cause of the national renewal.
On the occasion, the province’s armed forces received the second-class Fatherland Protection Order from the State President.
