Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong

PANO – Member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong was appointed the director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the General Department of Politics on April 15th.

The ceremony was attended by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh; Politburo member, Defence Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich; Politburo member and Head of the Central Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh; and representatives of relevant agencies.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Politburo, Head of the Central Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh announced the decision and Permanent member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh presented the decision to Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, officially assigning the general to the position of the Chief of the General Department of Politics.

Receiving the decision, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong sent his heart-fell thanks to the Party, State, and Army for laying confidence on him and appointing him to the position. He vowed to make his utmost efforts to fulfill the newly assigned honourable but also hard duties in the coming time. He also promised to further study and train himself to deserve the trust of the Party, State and Army, and promote the traditions of the 70 years of development of the General Department of Politics, contributing to building a modernized and politically strong army, absolutely faithful to the Party, State, people and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
