A send-off ceremony was held at 11:30 p.m. at Noi Bai International Airport under the chair of Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang.

Addressing the ceremony, Gen. Thang praised the Ministry of National Defense’s 82-strong delegation for overcoming difficulties and completing all preparations in a very short period of time to take on the mission.

The defense leader urged that upon arrival in Venezuela, the contingent stay united and closely coordinate with the People's Public Security delegation of Vietnam, the host nation's authorities, and international partners during task performance.

He expressed confidence that, with thorough preparation, a high sense of responsibility, and high resolve, the VPA delegation would successfully accomplish its assigned tasks, helping Venezuela in its post-earthquake recovery efforts while further demonstrating the VPA’s prestige and capabilities on the international stage.

Earlier, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang received Estela Del Valle Quijada Suarez, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Venezuela in Vietnam.

During the meeting, Gen. Thang affirmed that the Vietnamese contingent would make every effort to carry out search, rescue, and relief operations to assist the Government and people of Venezuela in overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster.

The Venezuelan diplomat expressed her sincere appreciation for Vietnam's decision to dispatch military and public security personnel to Venezuela alongside other international partners to support the country’s earthquake relief efforts. She stated her belief that the Vietnamese delegation would arrive not only bearing the national flag on their uniforms but also carrying the goodwill of the Vietnamese people toward Venezuela and its people. She also expressed confidence that the Vietnamese contingent would successfully fulfill the mission entrusted to them by the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam.
