Friendship between people of Vietnam and other countries enhanced
PANO - The Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC) on December 22 held a conference to review the Committee’s work in this year and outlined tasks for 2018.
Speaking at the event, National Assembly Vice-Chairman and VPC Chairman Uong Chu Luu said in 2017 the Committee implemented its assigned missions and, particularly, successfully hosted the Congress of the World Peace Council (WPC) Executive Committee in Hanoi this year. On bilateral ties, the VPC continued to foster ties with neighboring countries and work with partners from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Bangladesh, India and the Czech Republic. These activities contributed to promoting the Vietnamese image, strengthen the friendship and solidarity between the Vietnamese and other world peoples, as well as improving the VPC’s stature within the WPC framework.
Discussing tasks for 2018, participants agreed to further increase ties with traditional partners and expand relations with those from Asia and Latin America, and raise awareness of the public, especially younger generations, of peace and related activities, as well as conduct studies on peace and human rights issues.
