The event, which runs until late August, is one of the special activities to honor the typical kind of flower in the Northwestern region.

The color of crocosmia lights up the vast space around the cloud-covered Fansipan peak.

Annually when August comes, crocosmias are in full bloom in Sa Pa town, covering the mountainsides with a captivating shade of bright orange-red, standing out against the vibrant blue of the sky and white clouds. Particularly, as one ascends higher, especially at the peak of Fansipan, the crocosmias bloom more abundantly and brilliantly, creating a magnificent natural scenery.

Unlike flowers from lowland regions, crocosmias is credited as the "muse" of the mountainous area, characterized by its resilient vitality. It symbolizes extraordinary willpower, determination, and resilience of the Sa Pa people who always stand firm against the harsh circumstances. Standing at the altitude of 3,143m of the roof of Indochina, visitors can see crocosmias burst open below like spots of orange fire, exuding a majestic beauty. Each flower branch carries multiple blooms and buds like ripe grains of rice, gently arching downwards. The kind of flower evokes warmth and is cherished by local people as symbols of reunion, abundance, and happiness.

Artistic performances at the event

Not only is it an opportunity for tourists to check-in at the highest flower garden in Vietnam, but the Crocosmias Festival also offers them unique experiences of traditional culture in the Northwestern region. During the one month-long festival, cultural and artistic performances, including the resounding Dao drums, melodious folk songs, and graceful khen dances are organized in every corner of Sun World Fansipan Legend, making the journey to conquer the roof of Indochina more exciting than ever.

Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to participate in the traditional round sticky rice cake pounding activity at Ha Temple. After joyful moments of making cakes with friends from various localities, tourists offer the cakes to gods at the temple before enjoying them. This is considered one of the meaningful activities within the festival that many tourists aspire to join.
