True to its name, Da Chong (Thorny Rocks), the site features naturally protruding, spearhead-like rock formations. Inseparably linked to President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime and following his passing, K9 preserves rich historical layers across every courtyard, building, and tree. The centerpiece is the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, inaugurated on September 2, 2015. Spanning 440 sq.m., the sanctuary showcases traditional Northern vernacular architecture with wooden pillars, beams, and red-tiled roofs.
Inside the Memorial House, a statue of President Ho Chi Minh stands in the center beneath the horizontal lacquer board bearing his iconic motto: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom." Flanking the pillars is a parallel sentences honoring Uncle Ho’s legacy, authored by Professor Vu Khieu. Flanking the altar are engraved excerpts of Uncle Ho's Testament calling for unity to build a peaceful, unified, independent, and prosperous nation, alongside eulogy of the Party Central Committee honoring the national hero.
Over the years, the site has served as a revered destination for citizens nationwide to return to the roots, offer incense, and host meaningful political events, including revolutionary tradition education, Youth Union and Party member admission ceremonies, achievement-reporting ceremonies, and Uncle Ho Badge awards.
The site’s distinctive allure lies in its harmony of mountains and rivers, nature and humanity, and tranquility intertwined with historic milestones. Beyond a tourist attraction, K9 remains a sacred symbol deeply rooted in Vietnamese hearts for having sheltered the great national leader.
