Through this program, Ho Chi Minh City’s youth have the opportunity to exchange and learn from international friends, particularly from the exceptional young representatives from ASEAN members and Japan. This experience will help them improve themselves and foster friendship, contributing positively to the development and foreign relations of Ho Chi Minh City, the country, and the region.

SSEAYP is a collaborative program between the governments of the ten ASEAN member states and Japan, with the goal of enhancing exchange and friendship among young people from ASEAN and Japan. Launched in 1974, Vietnam joined SSEAYP in 1995 and has since hosted 18 welcoming ceremonies, including 17 in Ho Chi Minh City.
