On July 23, Pham Minh Chinh, a Politburo member, a member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Head of the PCC’s Commission for Organization and Bac Ninh province’s leaders visited and presented gifts to sick and wounded soldiers being cared at the Thuan Thanh Convalescent Center.

Mr. Chinh inquired after the soldiers and expressed gratitude to them for their devotion and contribution to the resistance wars for national salvation and defense of territorial integrity.

He confirmed that the Party, State and people have always remembered and been grateful to national contributors who had devoted their flesh and blood to national independence and freedom. He wished the cared and their families good health and happy lives.

The same day, while visiting and giving gifts to the families of invalids Nguyen Thi Sen and Phan Thi Dung in Hung Phuoc ward, Nghe An province’s Vinh city, member of the PCC and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee (VFFCC) Tran Thanh Man affirmed the Party’s, State’s, VFFCC’s will pay due attention to revolutionary contributors.

Man asked local Party Committees, authorities and Fatherland Fronts at all levels to continue raising money for the Gratitude Fund, so as to have better care for national contributors and help them stabilize their lives so that they could contribute to the development of their localities and the nation.

Also on July 23rd, a gratitude house was handed over to the family of Captain Bien Duc Long, a staff of the Army Academy in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province.

The academy contributed VND 70 million and construction materials to construct a 70sqm house.

Captain Bien Duc Long is the only son of martyr Bien Van Khanh.

This is the third house built by the academy for families of national contributors on the occasion of the 70th Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day.

Meanwhile, organs of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee organized a ceremony to mark the 70th Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day, exchanged with historical witnesses and raised money for the Gratitude Fund.

Over the past five years, the organs have contributed over VND 670 million to the Fund.

On this occasion, the organs presented 39 gifts to family members of sick, wounded and fallen soldiers, who are working at the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee.

Also,10 gifts were presented to former Youth Union cadres while 10 children of the organ’s personnel with good academic results and facing difficulties in life received Vu A Dinh scholarships.

At the ceremony, over VND 130 million was raised for the Gratitude Fund.
