EVN helps poor children enjoy Lunar New Year
PANO – The Youth Union chapter of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) carried out a number of activities from January 5th to 7th to present Tet gifts to students at schools in the three disadvantaged districts of Tan Uyen, Than Uyen, and Phong Tho in Lai Chau province.

Such a charitable drive has been repeated annually by EVN since 2009 on the Lunar New Year occasion with the aim of offering presents to needy people so that they can enjoy a warm traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
According to Nguyen The Hoang, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union chapter, the gifts, totaling VND 440 million, included 60 gifts of necessities worth VND 200,000 each for local policy families and poor households, and a number of blankets, clothes, sandals and shoes for needy children of kindergartens in Tan Uyen, Than Uyen and Phong Tho district.
The chapter will continue to coordinate with local authorities to conduct more meaning activities for people in Lai Chau province such as supporting to renovate power grids, presenting school supplies for children, and medical equipment for local medical stations.
