The event was part of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2022).

In the solemn atmosphere, the mission laid wreath and offered incense in commemoration of soldiers who bravely fought and sacrificed to protect the national border. The delegates also recalled the victorious tradition of troops of Po Hen Border Post under the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard Command in the struggle to safeguard national sovereignty and border security.

At the event, Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai and visiting delegates promised to bring into play glorious traditions built by former generations, overcome all difficulties and be determined to fulfill missions assigned by the Party, State, military and people. They pledged to well carry out the missions of managing and protecting national sovereignty and border security, contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.

Po Hen Historical Relic in Hai Son commune is a place to remember the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of brave officers of Armed Police (present the Border Guard) Station 209 - Po Hen. It is not only a typical historical relic site in Quang Ninh province, but also a cultural project marking the tradition of the border guard force.

The monument includes two stone stelaes with the names of 86 soldiers who sacrificed in the struggle to protect the northeastern border. Of the fallen, there were 45 troops of Armed Police Station 209 – Po Hen.

On the occasion, Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai and the mission of the Vietnam Border Guard Command presented gifts, worth VND 2 million each, to policy beneficiaries and needy households in Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city.
