The inspection confirmed that the object was a U.S.-made MK82 bomb weighing 500 pounds. The unguided general-purpose bomb measures approximately 1.5 meters in length and weighs about 230 kilograms, containing between 87 and 192 kilograms of explosive material.

To ensure public safety, the Ngoc Linh Commune Military Command swiftly implemented measures to secure the area, including establishing a safety perimeter, erecting warning barriers, deploying personnel to guard the site, and warning local residents to stay away from the location.

The unit also completed necessary documents and reported the incident to higher-level military authorities for coordination with specialized explosive ordnance disposal teams to safely remove and dispose of the bomb in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
