At the get-together, the participants recalled the glorious revolutionary tradition of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh troops and people in the resistance war against foreign invaders.

In wartime, troops and people of Ho Chi Minh City promoted their courage, ingenious, creative and indomitable spirit, solidarity, patriotism and loyalty to fight for national independence. Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh was an important area in the Southern theater and a strategic locality in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, of which forces contributed greatly to the liberation of the South and national unification.

The same day, leaders of the Party, State, Ho Chi Minh City and Military Region 7 laid wreath and offered incense to late President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers at Ben Duoc and Gia Dinh Temples for martyrs and planted trees at Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh revolutionary tradition area.
