Tuyen Quang remains heavily contaminated by post-war UXO, with more than 90,000 hectares affected. To date, over 13,700 hectares have been cleared, with more than 76,000 hectares still requiring clearance. The ongoing project aims to complete an additional 457 hectares by December 2025.

In his speech, Gen. Luong praised the efforts of relevant military agencies and units and local authorities for their great efforts and close coordination to implement the work.

He urged Military Region 2 to concentrate resources, strictly coordinate with local authorities, and ensure both safety and timely completion. He also emphasized close coordination between clearance units and search and collection teams, enhanced information dissemination, and mobilization of veterans to provide information on potential burial sites.
