On behalf of the leaders of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy Senior Colonel Ngo Thi Le welcomed the delegation.
At the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, Deputy Director of the Dong Thap provincial Department of Home Affairs Do Thi Thanh Trang reported on several achievements in caring for and implementing policies for wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, revolutionary contributors, as well as social welfare programs in the province.
At present, Dong Thap province has more than 194,000 beneficiaries. As of July 2025, about 21,800 individuals received monthly preferential allowances, with a total disbursement of around VND 620 billion from the central budget. In addition, 30,253 individuals have received one-time allowances totaling approximately VND 93 billion.
Each year, the province mobilizes over VND 10 billion for the “Gratitude Fund” to build and repair houses, present savings books, provide lifelong care for living heroic Vietnamese mothers and elderly, lonely parents of martyrs, and support seriously wounded veterans. The province also sponsors the children of martyrs and wounded soldiers, and implements preferential policies in education and training for children of national contributors in accordance with regulations.

Speaking at the meeting, Col. Le expressed profound gratitude for the immense sacrifices and contributions of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and all individuals and families in Dong Thap province who rendered great service to the revolution.
Col. Le noted that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, the MND is sending delegations to visit and present gifts to veteran revolutionaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs currently serving in the military, former foreign military personnel who once assisted the Vietnamese revolution.

The ministry is also holding floral tributes and incense-offering ceremonies at memorial sites across the country. These meaningful activities by officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army have contributed, together with the entire Party and people, to ensuring ever-better care for policy-beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors.
On this occasion, Col. Le presented 70 gifts to the delegation.
