In the 2023-2024 dry season, Team K72 of Binh Phuoc province collected the remains of 147 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives while conducting international service in Cambodia in different periods. Additionally, since the beginning of 2024, the team has found and recovered 105 sets of remains within the province.

During their mission implementation, Team K72 members have consistently demonstrated their will, determination, and discipline. The unit has made thorough preparations for the first phase in the 2024-2025 dry season in Cambodia, and all personnel are ready for the mission.

Speaking at the event, Political Commissar of the Binh Phuoc provincial Military Command and Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee 515 Senior Colonel Pham Nhu Quan urged the team to determine the search and collection of martyrs’ remains a political duty that upholds the tradition of “drinking water, remembering its source” in honor of the previous generations. He asked each officer and soldier to well aware of their mission, stay united, and be determined to excellently complete their mission.

The team was also reminded to maintain the friendship; respect local customs and laws, and cooperate with the authorities, armed forces, and people of Cambodia to facilitate the mission; strictly observe discipline and maintain daily reporting.

The same day, a similar event was held in Dong Thap. According to the province’s report, in the 2023-2024 dry season, despite numerous challenges, its Team K91 recovered 97 sets of remains in Prey Veng province (Cambodia). The team also provided free medical examinations and medicines for over 1,200 Cambodian citizens and distributed more than 1,000 gift packages to local forces and residents, contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the two countries and peoples.

In this dry season, Team K91 was assigned to conduct the search and collection of the remains of martyrs in the provinces of Prey Veng and Pursat (Cambodia), with preliminary information indicating more than 70 sets of remains.
