Ninety sets of remains of fallen soldiers found in Binh Phuoc
PANO - The Steering Committee 515 of Binh Phuoc province held a ceremony on February 16 to assign missions to Search and Collection Team K72.
Accordingly, during the second phase of the 2022-2023 dry season, Team K72 will conduct search and repatriation of remains of volunteer troops who died in Cambodia.
As Team K72 reported, the unit has made good preparation for the mission. Participating troops have heightened their determination to fulfill their tasks.
Concluding the first phase of the mission, Team K72 collected 90 sets of martyrs’ remains. Among them, 50 sets were found in Cambodia, the remaining sets were discovered at home.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh said that the search for and repatriation of remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers in Cambodia is an extremely difficult but noble task, requiring each officer and soldier to uphold the sense of responsibility and determination to overcome challenges to successfully complete the assigned duties.

In the second phase, the team sets a target to search for 326 fallen soldiers and identify 24 martyrs’ remains. The vice chairwoman required the team to promote traditional solidarity and friendship, respect for Cambodia’s habits and customs, strictly observe military discipline and local regulations. Additionally, they should regularly report the situations to higher levels to deal with arising issues in a timely manner.
