Located in northern Central Highlands, Gia Lai province holds an important position in terms of defense, security, and socio-economic development of the nation. Upholding traditions of the revolutionary land, the provincial Party committees, authorities, troops, and people have overcome challenges and done their utmost to obtain important achievements.

Over the past time, policies for national contributors have been paid due attention to by the province, contributing to raising the material and spiritual life for policy beneficiaries and those who have rendered good service to the revolution.

According to reports from relevant agencies, the province has more than 65,000 national contributors, including 9,583 martyrs’ families, 214 heroic Vietnamese mothers, of whom 14 mothers still live now, nine heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, 5,214 wounded soldiers, 4,006 sick ones, and 14,530 people who supported the revolution, among others.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet inquired after delegates’ health and briefed them on the whole military’s activities, especially the outcomes of gratitude work over the past time. The deputy chief of the General Department of Political Affairs affirmed that over the past years, the MND has actively and pro-actively made recommendations to the Party and State to issue and carry out policies for troops and their families.

Annually, the MND cooperates with ministries, agencies, Party committees, and local authorities to settle pending policies for those who made contribution to the revolution. Agencies and units in the whole military have effectively carried out gratitude activities to take better care of national contributors. 

Treasuring the great contribution of the province’s Party Organization, authorities, and people in general and national contributors in particular to the national liberation and defense cause, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet hoped that the former generation will uphold their political stance and revolutionary spirit to encourage the current one to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, thus building a prosperous province.
