The delegation also visited the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Special National Relic to honor martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed their lives during the 81-day-and-night battle to defend the ancient citadel in the summer of 1972. Furthermore, they held a flower-dropping ceremony on the Thach Han River and offered incense at the Route 9 National War Cemetery and the Truong Son National War Cemetery.

This series of tribute activities at “red addresses” in Ha Tinh and Quang Tri provinces reflected the “When drinking water, remember its source” tradition. It helped educate troops on patriotism, nurtured revolutionary ideals, and inspired pride and a sense of responsibility among Military Region 1 personnel in the cause of national construction and defense.
