In detail, the search and collection team from Military Region 2 collected 12 sets of remains of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed themselves in Laos during the war during the 2021-2022 dry season.

The six sets of remains which have yet to be identified were handed over to the Dien Bien provincial government. The identified remaining ones were taken by the local authorities for memorial and burial service.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwomen of the Dien Bien provincial People’s Council Giang Thi Hoa underlined that resistance wars against the common enemy between Vietnam and Laos have proved the solidarity, closeness, and loyalty between the two nations over the past decades.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates offered incense and flowers in commemoration of the fallen soldiers, vowing to build and defend the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, continue promoting the great friendship, special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, making contribution to peace in the region and the world.
