Discharged soldiers pay tribute to fallen soldiers
PANO - Discharged soldiers of Division 968 (Military Region 4), on December 20, offered incense to pay tribute to fallen soldiers at “red addresses” in areas where they are stationed.
At the division’s hall of fame, Road 9 National War Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, and the Memorial House of late Party General Secretary Le Duan in Trieu Phong district (Quang Tri province), they paid tribute to the fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national independence. On this occasion, they also learnt more about historical traditions of the military and people during the resistance war against the U.S. invaders.

The meaningful activities are held annually to educate troops about the Vietnamese tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source,” so as to raise their understanding of the nation’s culture and history and overcome difficulties to fulfill assigned missions.
In particular, it aims to encourage the troops after accomplishing military service to become good civilians, thus contributing to the cause of national construction and development.
In the coming time, the division will organize similar programs for its troops ahead of their discharge.
