Military units have supported disadvantaged communes and districts via different meaningful activities such as upgrading canals, roads, and bridges; repairing schools, medical stations, cultural and communal houses; building clean water supply systems; as well as carrying out community and social welfare projects.
As reported, in 2020, the whole military spent VND 845 billion to support more than 28,800 poor households across the country, built 286 community construction works, provided seeds and production capital for local people, and implemented programs and projects for sustainable poverty reduction.
Moreover, military units built and repaired 250 schools, upgraded over 1,000km of rural road and canals and 380 bridges and sewers, and more.
All these meaningful activities have contributed to enhancing socio-economic and cultural development, reinforcing national defense and security as well as tightening the close relationship between soldiers and people.
