The Chain-of-Command of the Border Post of Cha Lo International Border Gate inspected evacuation shelters and provided instant noodles and drinking water to 30 families from Cha Lo village who had been relocated due to risks of landslides and storm impacts. Border Posts of Lang Ho, Ca Xeng, Ra Mai, Roon, and others also coordinated with local authorities to distribute supplies and conduct health checks at evacuation centers set up for Typhoon No.5.

In Con Roang village, Thuong Trach commune, the flooding cut off access roads, leaving many families short of food. On the night of August 25, Con Roang Border Post dispatched 10 officers and soldiers who waded through floodwaters carrying 80 boxes of instant noodles, 100 kilograms of rice, and other supplies to support the villagers.

Due to the impact of Typhoon Kajiki, many border roads in Quang Tri remain inundated. Border guard forces continue to coordinate with local authorities to set up checkpoints and ensure the safety of residents and vehicles.

In Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, the Naval Region 1 Command has deployed hundreds of officers and sailors to assist local residents in recovering from the storm’s aftermath.

Immediately after Typhoon Kajiki made landfall on August 26, Navy Region 1 ordered units including Naval Squadron 137 of Brigade 169 and Radar Stations 510, 515, and 525 of Regiment 151 to mobilize more than 250 personnel and equipment to support authorities and residents in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

Their timely presence in times of hardship has left a lasting impression of the “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” and the image of naval servicemen in the hearts of the people.

Similarly, the Military Region 4 Command mobilized 23,934 officers, soldiers, and militiamen, along with 171 vehicles, 45 boats, and canoes, to assist in relief and recovery operations.

Before the storm made landfall, Military Region 4 had coordinated with local authorities to evacuate 18,976 households with 57,549 residents from flood-, landslide-, and flash flood-prone areas to safe zones. Troops and equipment were deployed with absolute safety, promptly assisting residents in reinforcing flood defenses, clearing roads, and relocating people from danger zones.

At present, Military Region 4 continues to maintain strict readiness for rescue operations, closely monitoring the development of the storm, working with localities to assess damage, and providing support for disadvantaged families to help them resume normal life. Units remain on standby to respond quickly to flash floods and landslides, safeguarding lives and equipment, and ensuring swift restoration of normal activities.

On August 26, the Ha Tinh provincial Military Command deployed more than 500 officers and soldiers of Regiment 841 and local militiamen, with specialized equipment, to areas hit hardest by the storm.

At the sites, forces promptly cleared fallen trees and debris, reopened blocked roads, and ensured safe traffic. Troops also helped residents repair damaged roofs, reinforce weakened structures, and restore schools and homes, supporting communities in stabilizing their lives after the storm. 

Currently, recovery operations are still underway in heavily affected areas.
