She held that after her house collapsed due to the flood, her family thought they would be homeless. The timely support of the troops was like a miracle. Regardless of hardships, the soldiers cleared the debris and rebuilt the house. “I am deeply grateful and love the soldiers like my own children and grandchildren,” said Cuc.

Le Chau in Hoa Hiep ward, one of the households receiving a new house on January 4, said that immediately after the floodwaters receded, troops arrived to help his family clear the rubble, dig the foundation, and build a new house. The handover ceremony of the first houses on January 4 was a testament to the “speedy” spirit of the campaign. Currently, units under Military Region 5 continue to mobilize forces and overcome weather conditions to complete and hand over all remaining houses on January 9 and 10, determined to ensure safe shelters for the people soon.
