Fisherman Le Phuong, a native from Pho Thach commune of Quang Ngai province’s Duc Pho district, experienced pain and difficulty breathing and needed medical care. At that time, Phuong  was working on QNg 98191TS, which was around 21 nautical miles East of Gianh port.

On receiving the information, the Border Post of Gianh Port Border Gate directed its unit to keep in touch with the trawler and medical personnel to provide medical assistance. The unit then informed Naval Squadron 2 to prepare for support upon the trawler's arrival at the port.

At 1:10p.m. the same day, trawler QNg 98191TS brought crew-member Le Phuong ashore. Military medical personnel and troops of the Border Post of Gianh Port Border Gate and Naval Squadron 2 promptly received and provided first aid and health examination for the patient.

Based on the initial diagnosis, the victim suffered a stroke. He had such symptoms as facial and limb paralysis. Later, the patient’s family received and transferred him to the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi for further medical treatment.
