Stationed in coastal areas, the border troops have excelled in maintaining equipment and facilities, ensuring readiness for training and combat readiness, and strictly following discipline and regulations.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Duong, Second-in-Command Officer of the Phuoc Thuan Border Post, held that there are difficulties facing troops’ training activities due to the sandy terrain. However, the unit builds annual training plans and programs in line with reality. Equipment and vehicles are managed and used effectively, ensuring absolute safety and readiness in any circumstances.

In addition, the unit’s leaders have also attached much importance to political education, combining training efforts and military discipline observance with the implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW on promoting the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle, to name but a few. Reportedly, in 2024, the unit has fulfilled all training contents with good results.

Besides training tasks, the production promotion is a key goal of the Phuoc Thuan Border Post, realized through practical initiatives. To improve the material and spiritual lives of soldiers and ensure a green, clean, and beautiful environment, the unit has implemented various production models.

Currently, the post has established a production area, including the 1,000 square meters of vegetable garden, a medicinal herb garden, fruit trees, ornamental plants, and livestock and poultry facilities.

As part of the “Border spring warms up border people's hearts” program, the provincial Border Guard Command and the unit have called on sponsors to provide 25 bicycles, worth nearly VND 50 million, to outstanding needy students. They also distributed 139 gifts and 250 chung and tet cakes (square and cylindrical sticky rice cakes) to disadvantaged households in Phuoc Thuan, Bong Trang, and Bung Rieng communes of Xuyen Moc district, totally worth nearly VND 150 million.

Additionally, the unit supports nine students in need through the “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program, providing VND 40.5 million per student per year, among others.
