Patient airlifted ashore by helicopter
PANO - An EC225 helicopter of Army Corps 18, numbered VN-8622, landed at Military Hospital 175 on December 11, carrying one seriously-ill patient from Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) in Truong Sa (Spratly) island district to the mainland safely.

In detail, a male patient named L.P.T., born in 1993 in Thanh Hoa province, was working at the Song Tu Tay Infirmary.
Around 7:30 on December 10, the patient experienced a heavy nose bleeding. Immediately, medical staff of Song Tu Tay Infirmary gave him first aid to stop the flow of blood. However, at 14:30 on the same day, blood again came out of his nose. The patient had low blood pressure with high pulse, and low consciousness. He was diagnosed with hemorrhagic shock due to heavy blood loss. The patient needed to be brought to the mainland for timely treatment.

Upon receiving tasks from the Ministry of National Defense, Army Corps 18 sent the EC225 helicopter with an emergency team of Military Hospital 175 on board to pick up the patient in Truong Sa island district.
The flight met all requirements and landed safely right at the Injury and Orthopedics Hospital of Military Hospital 175 at 17:30 on December 11. After that, the patient was moved to the Emergency Department of the institute for treatment.
