The delegation was led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Naval Region 3.

These pre-Tet visits carry political and social significance, helping to raise awareness, sentiment and responsibility among Party committees, authorities, local residents, agencies, organizations, enterprises and individuals in safeguarding the sacred national maritime sovereignty, effectively implementing national socio-economic development and national defense and security strategies; affirming national sovereignty at sea; and promoting social engagement to pool resources for maritime development.

The trip also helps tighten the ties between those in the mainland and naval troops and islanders.

As scheduled, Tet gifts will be presented to officers, soldiers stationed on the two frontline islands and on-duty forces at sea.

The working trip will last until January 30.

Below are several photos of the preparation for and start of the trip.
