In Con Co island district, strong winds and rough seas prevented the delegation's ship from docking at the port. Instead, Tet gifts were transported to the island and greetings were sent via radio to the local authorities, agencies, units, residents, officers and soldiers, including personnel of Radar Station 540 under Regiment 351, Naval Region 3.
In Ly Son island district, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Ly Son District War Cemetery and the Monument for Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Bac Hai's Flotilla. They also participated in a flag-raising ceremony, presented gifts, and extended Tet greetings to the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 (Regiment 351, Naval Region 3) and to local residents.
On behalf of Naval Region 3’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command, Senior Captain Pham Dinh Thanh commended the officers and soldiers of Radar Stations 540 and 550 for their solidarity and responsibility. He acknowledged their efforts to overcome difficulties in cooperation with local communities in both island districts to successfully fulfill their duties. Captain Thanh expressed his gratitude to the Party committees and local authorities for their support of the troops of the two radar stations, as well as the military and civilians on both islands. He also extended wishes for a joyous and prosperous new year to the local authorities, troops, and residents.
During the journey, the Naval Region 3 delegation distributed Tet gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam People's Navy, the Naval Region 3 Command, and other agencies and units under the Command to the officers, soldiers, and forces stationed on the two islands and patrolling at sea. Additionally, the delegation delivered nearly VND 500 million in cash, around 230 gifts valued at VND 1 million each, over 40 books and magazines, 200 wall calendars, and 500 desk calendars donated by localities, agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals.
As part of the "Vietnamese navy is a fulcrum for fishermen to reach out to sea" program, the delegation presented 15 gifts, including lifebuoys, life vests, national flags, and 1,000 meters of ship mooring rope, to fishermen in Ly Son district. The total value of these gifts exceeded VND 150 million.
