From disaster relief to housing support and social welfare, these mass mobilization activities have helped strengthen military-civilian ties and build a solid people’s heart posture.
Close to people through practical deeds
In early April 2026, heavy rain and storms in Bac Gia Nghia ward and other areas in Lam Dong province caused serious damage to houses, roads, and crops. Despite bad weather, nearly 200 troops of the provincial armed forces quickly helped clear roads and repair houses.

After the floods at the end of 2025, they also joined “Quang Trung Campaign,” building six new houses and repairing 29 other houses for ethnic and religious families before the Lunar New Year 2026.
Lam Dong province has many ethnic and religious communities, including a large Catholic population with over 800 priests and nearly 800,000 followers. Through programs, such as “The armed forces join hands for the poor – Leave no one left behind,” in 2025, military units built two cultural and sports facilities and 32 houses of military-civilian solidarity for religious people, ethnic minorities, and poor households. Military Region 7 also supported 60 more houses, repaired and built 42 houses, and organized the “Soldiers’ spring” program with nearly VND 18 billion. Truong Dinh Can, Permanent Deputy Head of Catholic Solidarity Committee of Lam Dong province, said these practical and specific actions clearly showed the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers who are close to the people, understand the people, respect the people, and serve the people.

Military Region 7 is home to 15 religions with more than 10 million followers, along with many ethnic communities. Military Region 7 Command has expanded many effective mass mobilization models to strengthen the bond between the military and people. In 2025, it built 22 projects for religious establishments and 572 houses for religious followers and ethnic people.
Promoting role of religious dignitaries
Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 Lieutenant General Tran Vinh Ngoc emphasized that Military Region 7 always follows the principle of “taking the people as the root.” All activities focus on practical benefits for the people while promoting the role of religious dignitaries, village elders, and community leaders as important bridges between Party resolutions and people and strengthening the people’s heart posture,
So far, all units in the military region have signed cooperation programs with religious organizations. Key contents include implementing Party guidelines and State laws on ethnic and religious affairs, defense and security education, mass mobilization work, patriotic movements, and other campaigns.

Truong Dinh Can said religious dignitaries regularly coordinate with military leaders and guide religious communities to carry out cooperation programs effectively. This helps preserve national traditions and the good values of Vietnamese Buddhism while contributing to national development.
Professor Thuong Son Thanh, Head of the Representative Board of the Cao Dai Holy See of Tay Ninh province, said the Church worked with local armed forces to organize cultural exchange camps, sports, exhibitions, discussions, and charity activities. These programs strengthened solidarity and people’s trust in the armed forces and local authorities.
In the future, Military Region 7 will continue improving coordination with religious dignitaries and village elders, focusing more on remote ethnic and religious areas. It will also develop new mass mobilization models linked to digital transformation, green economy, and climate adaptation.
