A trawler of the Standing Militia Squadron promptly rescues fishing boat QNg 48988 TS in distress at sea. |
Immediately after receiving the signal, the on-duty forces swiftly maneuvered to the scene and deployed three electric pumps to remove water flooding the engine compartment. At the same time, they assisted fishermen in relocating nets and purse-seine fishing gear to reduce the vessel’s load and prevent it from sinking.
Following initial rescue operations, the militia force’s ships secured and towed the distressed fishing boat ashore, handing it over to Man Quang Border Checkpoint of Son Tra Border Post of the Border Guard Command under the Da Nang Municipal Military Command for continued assistance and measures to ensure the boat’s safety.
Initial verification showed that the QNg 48988 TS had suffered hull damage after striking submerged rocks, causing water to flood into the hold. The boat carried 12 fishermen and was captained by Tran Ngoc Duoc, born in 1973, a resident of Hai Tan residential area, Tra Cau ward, Quang Ngai province.
The timely detection and rescue of the distressed fishing boat demonstrated the responsibility, pro-activeness, and rapid response capability of the Standing Militia Squadron, contributing to safeguarding the lives and property of fishermen operating at sea.
