Tears of affection and lingering farewells mixed with radiant smiles and waving hands as the convoy slowly moved along winding roads, gradually disappearing behind layers of the mountain range. First cherry blossom buds were beginning to bloom, signaling a warm spring approaching the locality.

Earlier, in early December 2025, implementing “Quang Trung Campaign” to help residents rebuild houses after floods, Brigade 25 closely coordinated with Dong Hai One Member Limited Liability Company of Military Region 7 and the Party committee and local authorities of D’Ran commune to mobilize manpower and equipment to assist the family of Dang Thi Be and the family of Nguyen Van Nghia, residing in Duong Moi hamlet, D’Ran commune, in rebuilding their houses, each including a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and auxiliary facilities.

When the soldiers first arrived, Duong Moi hamlet was devastated and desolate after the historic flood. All that remained were ruins and pain. With the spirit of “the people first and foremost,” officers and soldiers of Brigade 25 immediately set to work clearing debris left after the flood; dismantling each corrugated iron sheet, roof beam, and chiseling away from collapsed and buried concrete slabs.

Regardless of weekends, holidays, particularly the New Year holiday, enduring sun, rain, dampness, hardship, and fatigue, in less than a month, two solid, sturdy, and spacious houses were completed, bringing joy to the local residents.

On the day receiving her new house, Dang Thi Be spoke with a trembling, emotional voice that “Misfortune sometimes comes with fortune. The greatest blessing for my family is that, unexpectedly, less than a month after the flood, we are now living in such a spacious, elevated, and solid house. Thanks to the soldiers of Brigade 25, my family will forever remember the profound kindness of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.”

During the handover ceremony, Nguyen Van Nghia burst into tears, with emotional tears rolling down his wrinkled cheeks. He recalled that he cried when he saw his former house collapse since it was the only shelter for his three-generation family. In their most desperate moment, troops from Brigade 25 arrived in time to help them rebuild their house. “Like a fairy tale, now our extended family can once again gather in a solid and decent house. We will forever be grateful for this,” Nghia stressed.

On behalf of the local authorities, Secretary of the D’Ran Commune Party Committee Nguyen Van Huu emphasized that the timely support from Brigade 25 had been a great source of encouragement for the local authorities and people. “In times of hardship and danger, flood-affected residents feel even more deeply the strong military-civilian bond, the shining image and noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” the official said.
