On March 21, 2026, the Prime Minister issued Document No.270/TTg-KGVX directing housing support for this beneficiary group. To implement the directive, the Ministry of National Defense has developed a plan under the program titled “Houses of Gratitude,” aiming to mobilize coordinated efforts with the highest determination.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang commended relevant agencies and units, both inside and outside the military, for their pro-active coordination in reviewing eligible beneficiaries. He proposed reporting to the Prime Minister a support level of VND 120 million for newly built houses and VND 60 million for repairs. He also suggested issuing standard housing designs suitable to local conditions, accompanied by cost estimates, materials, and technical guidelines for families to consider.

To accelerate implementation, he requested the Hanoi Capital Military Command and military regions to direct provincial and municipal military commands to coordinate closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front of provinces and cities, relevant departments, and local authorities in organizing construction support. Military units nationwide were urged to mobilize personnel, equipment, and resources to effectively eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for the targeted beneficiaries in their stationed areas.

In addition, the Deputy Defense Minister emphasized the need to strengthen communication efforts across mass media to build public consensus and support for the program. Relevant agencies and units were required to regularly report progress to the Ministry of National Defense for consolidation and submission to the Prime Minister in accordance with regulations.
