Authorized by the leaderships of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), Deputy Chief of the Department of Policy and Social Affairs Sr. Col. Tran Quang Thanh received the delegation.

Welcoming the delegates, Col. Thanh noted that Ho Chi Minh City has effectively implemented policies for people who had rendered meritorious services to the revolution and organized various activities to honor and show gratitude for their contributions. These efforts reflect deep appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of the fallen, wounded and sick veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and other individuals and families who had rendered meritorious services to the revolution.

Col. Thanh expressed his hope that Ho Chi Minh City’s leadership, armed forces, and people would continue working closely with military units to effectively carry out related policies and gratitude activities. He highlighted the importance of providing information and support for the search, recovery, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers, while continuing to care for national contributors.

He also asked the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs to further strengthen efforts to care for national contributors, ensuring that policies are implemented fully and promptly, and to coordinate in advising on, proposing, and effectively carrying out the “500-Day Campaign to Intensify the Search for, Recovery, and Identification of the Remains of Fallen Soldiers.”

The MND’s gifts presented to delegates from Ho Chi Minh City

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaderships of the MND and GDP, Col. Thanh presented 82 gifts from the MND to the delegates from Ho Chi Minh City.
