Fisherman rescued on Nam Yet Island handed to family

Previously, on the morning of August 8, while fishing in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, about 100 nautical miles from Nam Yet (Namyit) Island, Nguyen Duc Quoc, born in 1977 and from Hoai Nhon ward, Gia Lai province, the captain of trawler GL 98378 TS, developed right-sided paralysis, having difficulty moving his arms and legs, and facial drooping.  

On the afternoon of August 10, he was taken to Nam Yet Island Infirmary in Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province. Doctors diagnosed him with a stroke and consulted specialists from Military Hospital 103 and Military Hospital 175 to provide timely treatment. After initial treatment, his condition stabilized temporarily, and he remained under close medical observation.

To facilitate further specialized treatment, relevant units arranged for his transfer to the mainland. Ship TS 16 received the patient at Nam Yet Island, provided care and monitored his condition during the voyage, and safely transported him to Cam Ranh Port.

After the ship docked, relevant agencies completed the necessary procedures and handed Nguyen Duc Quoc over to his family, who took him to a medical facility for continued monitoring and treatment.
