In addition, Regiment 9 cooperated with Doan Phong My commune to hold contests on sea, islands, borders, Law on Military Service, Law on Militia and Self-Defense; and hosted cultural exchanges and folk games.

Through mass mobilization activities, the unit has helped people in Phong My commune stabilize their life and develop economy, thus soon achieving advanced new-styled rural area building and strengthening solidarity between troops and people.

Since 2017, in realizing the coordination program, military units and war veterans’ associations have contributed millions of working days to repair and newly build tens of thousands of kilometers of rural roads, irrigation canals, and more than 1,000 houses of different types.

They have inquired after and given gifts to policy households and families of needy officers and former officers, presented medical supplies to hundreds of military - civilian infirmaries and local health establishments, and provided free health check-ups, treatment, and consultation for millions of people.

The above activities have helped raise troops, war veterans, and people’s health, contributing to effectively implementing the national target programs on "new-styled rural area building" and "sustainable poverty reduction."
