They will give free cataract surgery, using phacoemulsification, for 50-60 people on November 26 and 27.

Modern medical equipment employed during the program |
According to Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Thi Hong Que from Military Hospital 175, climate, wind, dust, and living conditions of people in the Central Highlands may cause eye diseases. However, local people, particularly those with cataracts, do not have knowledge and cannot afford eye examination and treatment. Thus, the two hospitals have joined hands to provide free surgery for them. A cataract surgery using phacoemulsification normally costs VND 10 million.
Director of Military Hospital 15 Lieutenant Colonel Pham Xuan An said that the program “Brilliant eyes of Vietnamese” was launched according to the fact that during previous free health check-ups for people in mountainous and remote areas, doctors of the two hospitals found out many people had eye diseases and cataracts but could not afford examination and treatment and they recommended the hospital leaders to conduct the program.

At the program, the organizers also presented gifts, each worth VND 300,000, to each person coming to take the eye examination.
The activity was a big gift from Army Corps 15 and Military Hospital 175 as a token of gratitude to local policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and border people on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the national great unity bloc, upholding political security, social order and safety in the locality.
