Military Region 4 braces for typhoon Khanun
PANO – In response to typhoon Khanun, the 11th tropical storm hitting the East Sea this year, the Military Region 4 (MR4) Command directed its relevant units to deploy forces in order to immediately cope with the storm.

Accordingly, the local troops were asked to take prompt actions to help locals overcome consequences of the previous flooding, monitor the typhoon’s development, and be ready to limit its impacts.
In addition, they warned locals flashfloods and landslides in dangerous areas and prepared forces and vehicles to deal with unpredictable situations.
Meanwhile, the military commands and border guards of coastal provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue were urged to monitor the number of ships visible from shore and proactively inform ship owners and crews about all storm’s changes and development as well as its expected path and direction, so as to give due warnings of the storm so that crews can actively seek shelter and, as necessary, take further precautions.
On the same day, a delegation of MR 4 paid a fact-finding visit to inspect the safety of several lakes and embankments in the area of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.
