Military Hospital 175 saves severely injured patient. |
This information was announced by Military Hospital 175 on March 30.
Accordingly, the patient, named V.V.T., aged 42 from District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, was brought to the hospital under critical conditions of severe shock, lethargy, and low blood pressure.
On giving medical examinations to the patient, doctors of Military Hospital 175 concluded that the patient had five wounds in the left chest and right abdomen, blood clots in the pericardium cavity, right ventricular wall perforation with a length of 3cm, left pneumothorax, and others. The hospital promptly activated the Code Red alert system.
Immediately, doctors on duty both gave emergency aid to the patient and took him to the operating room. During the surgery, the medical staff transfused nearly 6,000ml of blood and blood products to the patient.
Thanks to the quick and skillful coordination of specialists, the operation was performed successfully. The patient then received special care at the Department of Surgery Resuscitation. Currently, he is in stable condition after three weeks of treatment and is about to be discharged from the hospital.
