On the first Saturday after the lunar New Year (Tet) Festival 2025, a six-member working team from the post joined hands with teachers and parents of students of the local kindergarten to make fence and gate for the school.
The troops in green uniform did everything from welding iron, painting the gate, covering nets to consolidate the kindergarten in Con Roang village. Earlier, the unit sent troops to assist the teachers in planting vegetables around the campus in order to improve students’ meals. After a day of joint efforts of troops, teachers and students’ parents, the entire fence and gate of the school were completed, making it spacious, clean, and beautiful.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Khanh Toan, Deputy Political Commissar of Con Roang Border Post, said that the unit is tasked with managing and protecting 29.326 kilometers of borderline, eight villages in Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district which is unevenly populated and has hard living conditions.
Over the past time, Con Roang border guard officers and soldiers have launched many programs and projects to improve the local people’s life, alongside safeguarding the border. Up to now, the post has been implementing six pig raising, 20 chicken farming, and three beekeeping models. Officers and soldiers of the unit have also raised funds to maintain and promote the effectiveness of such models as “Border wells,” “Border medicine cabinet,” and “Remote village radio.” They have also provided local people with livestock husbandry techniques and built public works.

According to Lt. Col. Nguyen Khanh Toan, “since the implementation of the ‘Saturday to villages’ program, on weekends, the unit's troops have been divided into many working groups to go to villages to help people. Based on the reality, the working groups have carried out different tasks such as building public facilities, providing free health check-ups and medicine to local people, and giving hair-cuts to children. These contribute to the local authorities and forces’ efforts to improve the life of border people.”

Private First Class Ho Van Chien from the mass mobilization team under Con Roang Border Post, a Bru - Van Kieu man, said that seeing the joy of local people and children with neat hair, he felt happy. Chien has been actively engaged in activities within the framework of the program. He has himself offered hair-cuts, instructed local people on how to grow vegetables and make their houses clean.
