Lighting up villages in border areas
PANO - When night falls, the inter-village roads in A Roang border commune, A Luoi district, Hue city are brightly lit thanks to solar-powered street poles.
B Lup Ham, Head of A Roang 1 village, shared that in the past, it was very dangerous to travel at night. Children didn’t dare to go outside to play, and people were reluctant to leave their homes. Recently, Defense-Economic Unit 92 under Military Region 4, together with local authorities, supported the launch of the “Lighting Up Roads in Border Areas” project. The initiative covers a total length of more than 2 kilometers and includes the installation of over 40 solar-powered lights. Local residents were excited to receive this lighting system.

In A Dot village, Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district, inter-village roads have also become brighter thanks to the joint efforts of Defense-Economic Unit 92 in building the “Lighting up Borderline Villages” project. A 600-meter road was equipped with 25 solar-powered lights.
According to Senior Colonel Luu Duc Chinh, Political Commissar of Defense-Economic Unit 92, the unit has implemented many practical projects to support local communities. Since 2024, the unit has repaired three cultural houses, poured concrete for a volleyball court, a community cultural house, and a school, and has also started construction on two gratitude houses, among other activities. These projects have not only brought joy to local residents in the A So Defense-Economic Zone but also serve as a testament to the close ties between the military and civilians.
