On the same day, General Phan Van Giang visited and extended Tet greetings to General Ngo Xuan Lich, former Minister of National Defense, and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and other former leaders in Hanoi.

General Phan Van Giang briefed General Ngo Xuan Lich and Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy on the notable achievements of the entire military in recent times and on the key tasks that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense are focusing on leading in the time ahead. He reaffirmed the determination to build the Vietnam People’s Army into an increasingly strong force capable of meeting the requirements of the Fatherland protection in the new situation.

When visiting and extending New Year greetings to other former leaders, General Phan Van Giang conveyed his regards for their health and expressed deep gratitude for their contribution to the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as to the cause of national construction and defense.

General Phan Van Giang commended the achievements of the university in recent years and emphasized that the Military University of Culture and Arts is the cradle for training human resources in culture and performing arts for the entire military. The General Department of Political Affairs and the university should pay due attention to investing in facilities and procuring advanced and modern equipment and teaching aids to improve the quality of training for military artists. The contingent of officers, instructors, and cadets must strive for the cause of national education and training, serve the tasks of the military, act as soldiers on the cultural and ideological front, and contribute to the development of the country’s culture and arts.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense, the Minister of National Defense wished all officers, instructors, cadets, and soldiers of the Military University of Culture and Arts a joyful Tet, while ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.
