Over the past five years, Dak Lak border guards and the province’s Women Union organization have effectively implemented the program to encourage women to engage in building and protecting national sovereignty and border security and gained positive achievements.

The program has contributed to raising border women’s awareness of safeguarding territorial sovereignty in border areas, maintaining good cultural practices and protecting the environment, so on.

Also, the quality of people’s life has been improved. Many households have overcome their difficulties and been actively engaged in economic development and poverty reduction.

In the 2022-2027 period, the two sides will conduct various programs, including “Standing by women in border areas,” “Breeding cows for needy women,” “Paving the way to school for children,” “Adopted children of border posts,” “Gratitude houses,” and other emulation movements.

Meanwhile, the two units will coordinate in organizing training courses on the prevention and control of child abuse and illegal entry and exit; carrying out activities to support ethnic minority women and women with disabilities; presenting scholarships to disadvantaged students; providing health examination and medicines for local people and the women union’s members in border areas, to name but a few.
