In the framework of the program, the unit coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City-based Hung Vuong Hospital to provided free health check-ups and medicines, and offered gifts to 300 needy people and fishermen in the area.

Also at the event, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, together with La Gi town’s Party Committee, organized the final round of the “I love my national sea and islands” contest, attracting the participation of 100 students from 10 secondary schools in the region.

As a result, the first prize was awarded to student Pham Ngo Khanh Quynh from Phuoc Hoi 2 Secondary School.

On the occasion, the coast guard unit handed over 10 bicycles, 100 scholarships, worth VND 500,000 each, to needy students with good academic outcomes in La Gi town.

Offering gifts to poor students in La Gi town

This is the sixth time the mass mobilization program has been organized by the Coast Guard Region 3 Command in Binh Thuan province, showing the care and responsibility of the coast guard force in general, and Coast Guard Region 3 in particular, to policy households, ethnic minority groups, and needy fishermen and students in the coastal provinces of the country.

* In order to raise awareness of law and promote responsibility and pioneering role of youths in the two provinces of Kien Giang and Ca Mau in the cause of national construction and protection, from November 23 to 25, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command has held many activities to disseminate laws on drug and crime prevention and control.

An overview of the event

On this occasion, the unit worked with Van Khanh Secondary School in Van Khanh commune, An Minh district, Kien Giang province, and Thoi Binh Secondary School in Thoi Binh townlet, Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province to equip students with the role and significance of sea and islands, the Vietnam Coast Guard Law 2018 and related documents, laws on drugs and crime prevention and control, and the role of the youths in protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands, and crime prevention and control at sea.
