On behalf of the CMC and the MND, General Chien acknowledged and praised the efforts of the officers, staff, and workers of Corps 12, who overcame difficulties and hardships to successfully perform their duties as a force involved in both defense and production to help locals soon stabilize their daily and production activities.

The deputy defense minister expressed confidence that, with the determination of the entire political system, local people will quickly overcome their pain and losses to build a prosperous and civilized community.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-people’s Defense Festive Day, General Chien visited Lang Nu hamlet and presented gifts from the CMC and MND to the residents. Additionally, the Military Region 2 Command, the Border Guard Command, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel), Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, and Corps 12 handed over many meaningful gifts to the locals.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister, on September 21, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, in coordination with Vietnam Television, launched the construction of a resettlement area for people of Lang Nu hamlet. Army Corps 12 of the Ministry of National Defense was assigned to carry out the project. Upon receiving the task, the army corps quickly commenced construction according to plan.

So far, 40 traditional Tay ethnic stilt houses, each built on an area of 96m², have been completed. Other completed works include a 300m² community house, a 220m² school building with two primary and two kindergarten classrooms, and the entire transportation infrastructure.

The unit has worked with the local authorities and people to arrange the homes, build vegetable gardens, plant trees along the roads, and clean the public spaces. The resettlement area for Lang Nu has been successfully completed, meeting the people's needs and expectations and contributing to sharing pain and losses with local people.
