On the fifth day, the search for missing victims in Nu village was deployed with many teams and groups across the central area of Nu village, about 2km from the foot of the Voi Mountain.

Currently, the team is facing many difficulties as the landslide area is 24 hectares wide and 1.3km long.

Furthermore, the hot weather is causing the victims’ bodies to decompose faster. In particular, currently in the central area, due to the large amount of mud and soil, the subsidence is more than 2m deep, so the functional forces as well as the team are also having difficulty approaching the locations that need to be searched.

Talking with a reporter at the scene, Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Thuyen noted that over the past days, there were many forces at the scene, affecting the service dogs’ operation. In addition, hot weather conditions also restrict their ability. “We have made recommendations to the Military Region 2 armed forces to change the measure to search for the missing victims by the coordination of all forces and equipment to raise the effectiveness of the task.”

On the same day, the team detected the location of missing victims in the central area of Nu village.

Reportedly, at noon on September 15, the district’s functional forces and local authorities of Phuc Khanh commune and Nu village reviewed the losses of people and property.

Accordingly, so far, 87 people are safe after the storm, while the number of deaths is 52, and 14 people are still missing. The search and rescue task is being implemented quickly at the scene.
