Border troops help disadvantaged children
PANO - On September 3, Tr’Hy Border Guard Station under the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command in collaboration with the Party Committee and the authorities of Axan and Tr’Hy communes, Tay Giang district held a ceremony to adopt children and hand over gifts to 28 students under the “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program and the “Military officers and soldiers supporting children to go to school” project.
Accordingly, Tr’Hy Border Guard Station has adopted Po Loong Khang (born in 2013 in Abaanh village, Tr’Hy commune) since September 1, 2024. Khang’s father passed away and his mother is a woman with disabilities. He is currently studying in the 6th grade at Ly Tu Trong Ethnic Semi-boarding Secondary School in A Xan Commune.

The unit has also adopted Riah Vut, born in 2011 in Ta Vang Village, Ka Lum district, Sekong province, Laos, under the “Paving the way to school for children” program. Riah Vut’s father passed away, and his mother is sick, so he has to live with his uncle. Tr’Hy Border Guard Station will take care of Riah Vut until he finishes the 12th grade, with a monthly financial support of VND 500,000.
On this occasion, Tr’Hy Border Guard Station met with and presented gifts, including books, school supplies, blankets, mosquito nets, and VND 1 million in cash, to 28 adopted children. This deed aims to support children before entering the 2024-2025 school year, strengthen the military-civilian ties, and highlight the border guard force’s role in socio-economic and cultural development in border areas of Tay Giang district.
