* On May 19, at the Border Post of Lien Huong Border Port, the Binh Thuan provincial Border Guard Command offered 21 scholarships, worth VND 2 million each, to 21 poor students with good academic outcomes in the maritime border area of Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province, in the framework of the “Paving the way to school for children - Adopted children of border posts” program.

* Earlier, on May 14, Keng Du Border Post under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with Vietnam Travel Magazine and Hanoi Tam Phuc Fund, held a program in response to the International Children Day at Khe Linh Kindergarten, Keng Du commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

On the occasion, the unit handed over school supplies, a TV, a water purifier, a rice cooker, among others, to the kindergarten, worth totally VND 110 million.

* On May 7, the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the provincial Department of Education and Training, Women Union chapter, held a course for more than 400 students at Doan Ket Primary School, Lai Chau city.

Introducing about border markers

On the occasion, the border officers equipped participants with knowledge about the establishment and meanings of the national borderline, the importance of managing and protecting national sovereignty in borders areas, how to identify national borderline, among others.

They also disseminated information about the National Border Law, the Vietnam Border Guards Law, legal documents related to national border, sea and islands, function and organization of the border guard force, and situations in border areas.

* On May 6, the Border Post of Ben Luc Port, Long An provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with local authorities and sponsors, launched the “Zero VND Stall,” and presented clothes to students in Ben Luc townlet, Ben Luc district, Long An province.

Handing over new clothes to poor children

At the stall, the unit handed over 1,000 sets of new clothes to students aged 1 to 7 in the locality, worth totally VND 120 million, in order to share difficulties with local people and children.

Over the past time, the unit has also implemented many practical activities in the area, such as opening classes to teach local students and help needy households.
