Officers and soldiers of Brigade 957 assist residents in evacuating property to safe locations.

Earlier, prolonged heavy rains and flooding triggered by a tropical storm have caused severe inundation and localized landslides in several areas of the province.

From November 19 to 25, working teams from Brigade 957 were deployed to vulnerable locations. From early morning until late at night, these teams focused on clearing mud and debris at commune People’s Committee offices, schools, medical stations, and inter-village roads across Dien Khanh, Dien Phuoc, Suoi Dau, and Cam Lam, helping local authorities and residents swiftly stabilize their lives after the floods.

Brigade 957 personnel work tirelessly day and night to clear mud and clean the environment.

Many schools were submerged, with layers of thick mud 20–30 centimeters deep. Officers and soldiers of Brigade 957 worked alongside teachers, students, and local organizations to collect debris, level the grounds, and thoroughly clean affected areas.

As of the morning of November 25, the Brigade had deployed more than 400 officers and soldiers, contributing over 2,430 workdays. They helped evacuate nearly 800 residents to safe locations; cleaned and restored seven local People’s Committee offices, 23 schools, and 13 medical stations; repaired nearly 5 kilometers of inter-village roads; and reinforced close to 250 meters of anti-overflow embankments.

In addition, the unit, in coordination with benefactors, provided 600 meals, 2,487 relief packages, 210 bottles of clean water, 900 sets of new clothing, and 870 kilograms of used clothing, worth a total value of nearly VND 593 million to locals.

Despite harsh weather conditions, groups of officers and sailors continued transporting essential goods, medicine, and clean water to affected households. Many trips required trekking through deep mud, yet all tasks were carried out with urgency to help residents quickly regain stability.

Senior Colonel Tien Quang Su, Political Commissar of Brigade 957, noted that in addition to addressing flood consequences, the unit is continuing to help localities reinforce homes, relocate valuable belongings, and secure public facilities in anticipation of another storm forecast to directly impact Khanh Hoa in the coming days.
