According to a report delivered at the event, in January, the GS directed the whole military to well fulfill all scheduled and unscheduled tasks, follow situations in the air, at sea, in border areas and in cyber space, give timely suggestions to deal with emerging situations and ensure security in localities and during big events of the Party, State, and military.
Concluding the meeting, Gen. Cuong hailed agencies and units for their outstanding attainments in implementing military-defense tasks over the past time.

Regarding the missions for February and following months, the GS chief asked the whole military to maintain combat readiness duties, keep a close watch on situational developments, particularly in key areas, the East Sea (South China Sea), Southwestern waters, borders, and make timely recommendations to effectively handle cases.
He also requested them to work closely with local public security force to uphold security and order throughout the country, especially during the lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the celebration of the 94th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and other important political event of the country and the military. He urged them to strictly observe the directive of the Minister of National Defense on combat readiness and organization of Tet celebrations in 2024.
The GS leader noted that the GS should accelerate its direction on monitoring and managing drones, and other ultra-light flying vehicles, controlling information in cyber space, and guaranteeing smooth communication.
Apart from above requests, agencies and units were asked to be well-prepared for the training season 2024, strengthen patrols, guards, and observe military discipline and traffic safety regulations.
